Make no noise
Eine Kammeroper von Miroslav Srnka›Make no noise‹ is the title of the first chamber opera by the Czech composer Miroslav Srnka, first performed in July 2011 at Munich’s Pavillon 21by the Ensemble Modern and soloists of the Bavarian State Opera.
›Make no noise‹ describes the search for communication between humans. Hanna and Joseph have no words for the terrible events that changed their lives suddenly. In silence, both have found a bearable path to deal with their respective past. When they meet on a former oil rig – the uncommunicative woman and the deeply wounded, but daredevil man – they feel that their odd connection offers a possibility of living with their traumata. Singing becomes the language which can show both protagonists the only possible way forward.
