Ensemble Modern plays Frank Zappa

›The Yellow Shark‹ is Frank Zappa’s last album, released after a long and intense period of collaboration with Ensemble Modern, his »last band«. The world premiere took place at the main auditorium of the Alte Oper Frankfurt in September 1992. Now Ensemble Modern returns to this location with a special concert on November 29, paying homage to the rock avant-gardist. In addition to excerpts from ›The Yellow Shark‹, the event features music from ›Greggery Peccary & Other Persuasions‹, with which Ensemble Modern celebrated its 20-year anniversary in 2000.
